''My sister died because doctors failed to diagnose her cancer 50 TIMES''
Luisa Guerra was just 29 when she first visited her GP complaining of back pain, despite returning dozens of times she died of cervical cancer six years later when Luisa Guerra first visited a GP complaining of back pain, her family say she was told to go home and take paracetamol.
They claim over the next three years she repeatedly went back to the surgery in agony, only to be fobbed off dozens of times and being told she had “stress”.
But it was not until she paid for a private scan that the real reason for herdeteriorating health became clear – she had tumours in her cervix, lymph nodes, back and neck.
By the time she was diagnosed it was too late and, despite gruelling chemotherapy, the mum of two died aged 35.
Now her sister Diana, 22, is battling to get justice for Luisa, who she claims might have been saved if doctors had acted more quickly.
Diana said: “I am devastated that I lost my sister. Knowing that she might still be here today if doctors had taken her seriously makes me very angry. They had more than 50 opportunities over six years to help her but they never did. She was so young.”SOURCE MIRROR NEWS UK.
